This long awaited replacement of the County courthouse in Plant City was an award winner at the Hillsborough County Planning Commission’s 30th annual design awards. This new facility included an additional courtroom, secure staff parking, security enhancements now required with a façade and site layout that blends into the Plant City community seamlessly. An underground stormwater vault was implemented which allowed for more parking on site. The site was situated to fit into the Plant City area neighborhood with details that match downtown. Designs included necessary improvements to allow this project to be awarded the silver LEED certificate. This is first of several phases that are intended to redevelop the County facilities on this site.
